井上雄彦在正式出道前，曾经给北条司做过很长一段时间的助手，这段助手生涯给井上带来了非常宝贵的财富，井上完美的继承了北条的写实画风，积累了深厚的绘画基本功，尤其是画人物方面的经验更是让井上受益终身。
